NEW DELHI: The alleged iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X new handsets have shown up on smartphone benchmarking websites GeekBench and Antutu. The rumoured iPhone X and the iPhone 8 Plus are being said to have made it to the GeekBench and Antutu respectively.

Based on the Geekbench listing, the Apple iPhone X or “iPhone 10,5” scores 4061 and 9959 in single and multi core tests. The next-gen processor will have 6-cores and 3GB RAM, the same amount said to use in the iPhone 7 Plus. On Antutu, the alleged iPhone 8 Plus or the iPhone 7S Plus is seen running iOS 11 with Apple A11 processor. The device is also seen running 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. Nothing else has been revealed on the websites.

The company has also been granted a new patent that lets those who find a lost iPhone to get in touch with someone who knows the owner of the lost handset. This feature works in situations when the owner is not aware if he or she has misplaced the iPhone. If the owner is aware of the lost iPhone, he/she can use the ‘Find My iPhone’ feature.
The patent granted by USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office) was filed back on January 11, 2013. The abstract says, “Some embodiments provide a method for bypassing device security protections to communicate with a contact of a secure device. The method displays a selectable user interface object on the device enabling a user to bypass the security protections of the device. Upon receiving a selection of the user interface object, the method initiates a communication to a contact that is preselected from a list of contacts.”
The contact, to which the person who has found the lost iPhone can get in touch with, can be set by the owner. The contact number can be given in the Medical ID section of the Health app. This information will be visible once the person presses the Home button to bring up the keypad, taps on the ‘Emergency’ option followed by Medical ID.
