There is a word in the market that LG’s home country rival, Samsung, will bring the same screen-is-to-body ratio in the ‘Galaxy S9’ as it was in the Galaxy S8 as the latter may have the same design. However, this seems to have given LG an upper hand as the company is rumoured to bring its upcoming flagship handset, tipped as LG G7, with even higher screen-to-body ratio than the LG G6.

Adding to this rumour is a new render image spotted by Tiger Mobiles website. The image shows the front side of the alleged LG G7, hinting a better screen-to-body ratio and a couple of other features as well.

In the image we can see the handset sporting minimal bezels on top and bottom, barely leaving any space for the speaker and the array of sensors that are usually placed above the screen. The side bezels are also hardly visible. The screen is seen with the same rounded corners like what we’ve seen with the G6 and the V30. It is hard to decipher the screen size of the handset based on the render.

Another interesting feature spotted in the render image is that the slim bezel on top has what looks like dual front-facing cameras. For reference, the G6 has a single front-facing 5MP camera.
It is worth adding that the image shows a mere render and the actual product can be different in terms of looks. The authenticity of the image has also not been verified.
Meanwhile, contradicting a recent report saying that LG may ditch the ‘G’ moniker for its flagship smartphone, the company’s support page has confirmed the name LG G7 for the upcoming smartphone. Spotted by Android Police, the name was mentioned by LG in the listing page of a new app called LG Wallet. The listing was seen on the Google Play Store. “You can install this application only if you have G7 [sic],” adds the listing.
No matter how the smartphone may look and what moniker does it carry, we’ll might be knowing about it at MWC 2018, which is set to take place from February 26.
