TeamViewer to Invest in IoT Connectivity and Applications in India
The company says it will use both direct and indirect go-to-market strategies to build its IOT solutions business in the country.
Germany-based remote connectivity software solutions company, TeamViewer, will invest in its Internet of Things (IoT) solutions business in India, and it is primarily targeting small and medium enterprises in the country.
Krunal Patel, Head of Business for India and South Asia, TeamViewer, told The Hindu that the company would invest in IoT connectivity and applications.
He did not disclose the actual amount but said that the company will use both direct and indirect go-to-market strategies to build its business in the country.
While the direct approach will target enterprises and the government, he added, the indirect approach is aimed at SMEs.
TeamViewer eyes strong growth in India
According to Patel, TeamViewer already has about 100 million downloads in India over the last three to five years. The company has three offices in India.
“We already had a huge viral effect of downloads. That gave us the confidence that this is a very good market,” Patel was quoted as saying.
TeamViewer, in partnership with computer company Dell and electronics firm Bosch, earlier this month launched an IoT starter kit for businesses that can be set up immediately for implementing IoT-related use cases.
The starter kit consists of one Dell Edge 3001 Gateway with industry-standard connectivity, and three Bosch XDK110 multi-sensors with an accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer.
The company reported a global turnover of €230 million (over ₹1,800 crore) and a “double-digit growth” in 2018.
