Infosys And Con Edison Partner For Customer Service Upgrade
- Infosys is in talks of implementing a new improved customer service system
- The partnership would enable Con Edison to meet dynamic business requirements
- Earlier this month, Infosys had partnered with Vanguard for digital transformation
According to a report, Infosys has signed a 4 year contract from US energy utility Consolidated Edison Company to digitally transform its customer service capabilities.
Con Edison has been serving New York and other nearby cities. The Con Edison deal is the third large contract that the Bengaluru-based software services provider has signed this month.
Previously it has also been reported that, it inked an estimated $1.5 billion deal with US financial firm Vanguard, followed by an IT infrastructure digitisation deal with German speciality chemical manufacturers Lanxess.
The Con Edition deal emphasises on implementating a customer solution that would enable the utility to keep pace with regulatory and technology changes, become technologically nimble, mitigate risks, and become cost effective according to a statement by Infosys.
End-to-end program management and development
Infosys would also provide end-to-end program management, business process, blueprint, design, development, testing, deployment, testing, deployment and stabilisation support services, it said.
Ashiss Kumar Dash, SVP and Segment Head – Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy at Infosys said in a statement “Customer Service System modernisation replacement initiatives for utilities such as Con Edison are particularly complex given how central and interconnected these systems are to the core utilities business models”.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh told ET earlier this month that the company’s focus on winning large deals was paying off. He also said “ A clear focus on digital, which is where clients are now ( spending ) ; and looked specifically at large deals, such as the partnership with Vanguard, announces earlier this month”.
